Compact Dual-Nail Picture Hook – 3D Printable

A small but sturdy wall hook designed for hanging picture frames, signs, plaques, and lightweight wall décor. The dual-nail design provides improved stability compared to single-nail hangers, helping to prevent rotation and distribute load more evenly. This was styles on the old brass design which I ran out of so decided to model in plastic.

The original model measures 32 × 24 × 8.5 mm and is designed for nails up to 2 mm diameter. The design can be easily scaled up for larger fasteners and heavier pictures.

PETG is the recommended material due to its toughness and resistance to deformation under load. PLA can also be used successfully for lighter pictures, although long-term loads, high temperatures, or direct sunlight may cause warping. ABS, ASA, and other engineering filaments are also suitable.

Recommended Print Settings

• Material: PETG (recommended)
• Layer height: 0.20 mm
• Infill: 40%
• Walls: 3–4 perimeters
• Supports: None
• Print orientation: Flat on the back face

Note

Load capacity depends on print quality, filament choice, wall material, and fastener selection. For larger or heavier frames, scale the model accordingly and use appropriately sized nails or use 2 of them. I have hung 20"x30" glass fronted gallery frames for the last 2 months and are fine.
