Description
The GAZ-AA ("polutorka") is a Soviet medium-tonnage truck manufactured by the Nizhny Novgorod Automobile Plant (in 1932) and later by the Gorky Automobile Plant. It was based on the American Ford AA truck model of 1930, but was later redesigned based on domestic blueprints.
Design
The vehicle is based on a classic frame chassis with a leaf spring suspension. Here are some notable features of its design:
The cabin is made of simple wood, with a metal hood and a cargo platform with hinged sides.
A feature of the transmission - as a longitudinal thrust used "pushing pipe", inside which was a closed cardan shaft.
Location of the gas tank - it was located in front of the cabin, designed for two people: the driver and the passenger.

Load capacity - 1.5 t (1500 kg).
The engine is a four—cylinder carburetor, with a power of 40 hp. The engine was characterized by a compression ratio (4.25) and consumed exceptionally low-octane gasoline, in hot weather it could even run on kerosene.
The transmission is a four-speed manual transmission.
The maximum speed is 70 km/h.
Dimensions: length is 5335 mm, width is 2030 mm, height is 1870 mm, ground clearance is 200 mm, and wheelbase is 3340 mm.
The weight is 1750 kg.
