Description
This portable pocket-sized pendulum will help you calculate the acceleration due to gravity if you ever get stranded on another planet. Simply open it up, assemble it, then time the period of the swing, using this you can then utilize this formula to calculate g: 1.487 / T²
The above formula is derived from the formula for a physical pendulum T = 2π√(I/mgd) rearranged to g = (4π²⋅I)/(T²⋅m⋅d) then the known constants were replaced with numbers and the expression was simplified to get g = 1.487 / T²
Print in PLA for most accurate results, mass calculations use PLA (density assumed to be 1.24 g/cm³) at 100% infill for the pendulum arm
