Boost Me (for free)

Boosts help me make more models!

I taught my kids to embroider over spring break, so we are suddenly in need of a bunch of frames, and I decided to take the opportunity to create one that's easy to print, can be swapped, and is as mobility-challenge friendly as I could make it since one of my struggles with framing needlework is the little fiddly screws to tighten things.

So, these are pretty straightforward; there are four shapes, and each one has a top, bottom, and an insert. The insert is where you stretch your fabric, and then the top and bottom just magnet to each other over it. I've left the magnet holes as negative spaces so that you can change them to whatever you have on hand, but if you want to use the ones I did, I used 6mmx4mm; you can definitely get away with smaller but I found that this size gave good hold without being too hard to get apart. Depending on tolerance, you may need some glue for the magnets, but mine actually just squeezed in there.

I played around with printing some of mine on reflective plates and with different bottom layer lines and they turned out cute; they're oriented so that they print face down, so they're fun for experimenting and don't need supports! Let me know if you have any questions and please do let me know if you make one, I would love to see :).
