Modular Picture frame
Print Profile(1)

Description
Introducing this huge undertaking! One-of-a-kind idea.
This was a customer request. They wanted a couple 4x6 custom picture frames that could hang, stand or magnetize to something. They also wanted the ability to do these things horizontally or vertically. I decided to take it one step farther and make the front replaceable! This way when this customer wants a new frame, I just create them a new cover and only have to charge them the price (and design fee) of a new cover!
As of right now there is only 3 frame fronts. The test is included in the profile. Other Frame Fronts.
I plan to make a video but for now here is the Assembly instructions.
Parts needed:
16x Super strong n52 5/16 x 1/16 Inch magnets (Only need 8 super strong if you plan to hang it using magnets i.e. refrigerator). I use these.
4x - Frame Front
4x - Frame Middle
8x - Frame back
60 grit sandpaper
wet towel
Plexi Glass - I use this
Print all pieces. Make sure you pay attention to the direction of the magnets. Also make sur you test fit all magnets first. I sand the magnet slightly to scuff it up. I put glue in the hole ( not to much or to little), rub the sanded side of the magnet on the wet towel, and place the magnet it the hole. I than use a stack of magnets on the other side to pull the magnet in.
This is the hardest part, And may be a future edit. For the back, the flap is made up of three pieces. the small half moon outer ring is what holds it into place, but also allows the other 2 parts to move freely. The whole mechanism (All 3 pieces) need to be assembled before gluing! Do not glue the outer ring in, without assembling the flap inside of the ring! When you glue this piece into place ( it is the only piece that glues in!) Make sure you wet only the area you want glued, and strongly but not to quick, move the flap 360 for several mins. This will help keep from gluing it into place. The diagnoal part on the bottom of the flap is to face down. The big circle should move freely.
Watch your fingers when assembling the pieces together!
