Description
The sloth is a mammal native to the tropical rainforests of Central and South America, famous for its extremely slow movements and relaxed lifestyle. Most of the time, sloths hang upside down from trees, using their long, curved claws to grip branches securely.
They have a very low metabolic rate and mainly feed on leaves, which explains their slow behavior. In the wild, being slow actually helps them avoid predators. Sloths are generally gentle animals and often appear to be “smiling,” making them especially popular and lovable.
