Description
A few sprites from the legendary DMA Design's Lemmings. One of the most clever puzzle games of all time, first released on Amiga back in 1991. That is the version color scheme I used, with some tweaks for 4-colors painting. Models have been painted by layer, so only three color changes needed. I used three layers for each color, so profile is still very flat.
This is really a placeholder, since my idea is keep adding more profiles: more color schemes from other versions, more sprites from other pixel sequels and ports and probably some maps. I would like to design at least two simple maps to add to the walls in my house.
- Colors as a reference. This is the Amiga/DOS version, but since the first game was released on pretty much every console and computer back then, there are several color schemes and aspect ratios. For example, ZX Spectrum version is solid yellow or pink, Amstrad CPC is blue and red, Game Boy is of course monochrome (with shades of gray) and Java ME version has completely new sprites.
- Model painted by layer. You will only see colors once sliced.
- Diagonal pixels have a blue-color “bridge” to avoid those bits get printed separately. You can barely notice it.
- Some skills like walker or digger have more than one sprite, just because all look cool. But I don't plan to add all the animations.
- Both digger sprites have some blue bits from the ground being thrown into the air. I think it adds a dynamic touch. Dirt is a blue sprite in the games, it is not colored by the scenario material.
Feedback is welcome. I will consider requests, can't promise anything 😶
