Essendon Light Box
Print Profile(1)

Description
Essendon FC light box with stand. This version is supplied with a 12mm hole in the back plate.
I use 12V LED COB strips connected to a 12mm socket piece, and power it using an AC adapter. A full explanation of the lighting process I use can be found at www.geelonghandmade.com in the FAQ section.
A version without the writing on the back and without the 12mm hole is also available at the above web site. Visit the web site if you'd like a custom version made for you.

Parts that I use in my light boxes
Note: I use components that are readily available through AliExpress. There are many variations of these items that you can use if you can find local suppliers.

| 12V Mains adapter | This is for the AU version, choose one that suits your location (1A) | https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003438232392.html |
| LED Strip | I used the 3mm version as it's easier to bend around the light box. Choose the 12V version to match your adapter. The 320 LEDs item is bright enough for a light box. I usually choose the 1m versions - it can be trimmed if needed. | https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005626311944.html |
| DC 12v socket | These fit nicely into the back plate of the light box with the pre-made 12mm hole. I solder the LED strip to the socket terminals. Only two pins of the socket are used. | https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007870570657.html |
| Inline switch | This inline switch allows you to turn the light box off or on. | https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005754107667.html |
