Moana Oar

This is the smaller version that comes in 4 pieces with a hole down the center for a 9mm dowel. The dowel will need to be 600mm long

I will be uploading the full version (around 2 meters long) in the next day or so

I am happy overall, but I recommend using the profile my buddy added with the brims and better infill for all pieces, using plate glue and increasing the plate temp by 5°C as some of my print lifted a bit which caused a gap after assembly. also if you are using a printer with a build plate that moves like my A1, I highly recommend printing one piece at a time and slow the print speed to 50% after about half of the print is done to help prevent the print from being knocked off the plate!

Great model. My daughter loves this addition to have for her Halloween costume and to play around the house. I wanted to put it together right away so I create a dowel to put the pieces together. https://makerworld.com/en/models/1865082-9-3mm-od-dowel-40mm-length#profileId-1995411

Turned out great (FlashForge AD5X) ! I designed a connector piece to join the various parts. The two parts of the oar use a different hinge rod with no middle ring. Photos show a full oar containig 3 shaft parts (2 + end piece). For that you need to print the middle shaft twice, 3x middle connectors and 1x connector for the oar blade. I printed the connectors horizontally for robustness. I Had to change the orientation of the parts to fit it on the printers bed (22cm x 22cm x 22cm). Also, oar's blade parts were printed with supports to avoid adhesion problems. Would you mind if I post a remix on thingiverse? Thanks!

Question. The 50% description on the STL download files. Is that meant to imply the files are half as big as the intended print? Should I double the size to print the actual oar? New to the game, sorry if its a silly questin.

hey, sorry for the confusion, this is the smaller version of the oar at half the size, so it just means that the files are scaled to 50% of the full scale printed, they'll be around 1m long the 100% scale version is 2m long and around 8 pieces (which I've just realised I've not actually uploaded yet, so will get that sorted this evening)

Hello! How are you? What should I put inside the hollow part? Or can I leave it as is

you can leave it as it is, but if suggest putting a long wooden dowel inside to give it some more strength and less prone to breaking apart

I had the same question and couldn't find anything so I just modeled this dowel to assemble it. https://makerworld.com/en/models/1865082-9-3mm-od-dowel-40mm-length#profileId-1995411
