I was working on a model that needed some threaded parts. So after a bit of research I modeled a set of Metric thread tests in Fusion. I then printed these off using BL PLA Matte, and a layer height of 0.1. They are actually pretty nice fidget tools too for those technically minded. The idea is to give the designer a much more tactile and tangible idea of what a threaded part would look like and work like on the design. This first set are ISO Metric in normal and Trapezoid threads.

Hi folks, I updated this model to include a mini version of the cassette box, allowing all the hinge shafts to be filament instead of stainless steel, and I strengthened a few parts. The main tower holder is unchanged and can hold both the V1.0 and V1.1 boxes, the box parts themselves are not interchangeable (you can't put a V1 lid on a V1.1 bottom etc) due to hinged shaft hole dimension changes.
Thanks for the community feedback for advising what changes would be useful..!!

These are really good and I'm gonna try and always incorporate them as an alternative in models that I design using metal bearings.

Not a big but on the worm screw I had some issues with the end of the screw. probably I made the error but I'm not sure. This is BL Matte on an A1. Great little mech though and can't wait to get the main bearing in it.

Printed 8 of these up to now with BL Matte on an A1 and they were all perfecto.

Yesterday I just needed a quick mesh to allow the water to drain from my pots and glasses so i quickly came up with this and it works pretty well, my wife seems to like the look of it, and it's semi modular in that you can link multiple meshes together end to end. There is also no reason you cannot scale the model to make thinner and thicker sections. The model has small feet underneath to lift it from the draining surface.

Some time ago I was wanting to cut leather on my desktop cmc (shapeoko pro) and I looked at the various drag knives online and decided I could build one pretty easily. I wanted to be able to change blades so I made the blade holder a swappable insert. This also allow different blade positions and angles suited to different task. This is the initial model with various blade inserts and spindle modifications to come later.
Enjoy the build and feedback is appreciated.

So I've had around 90 downloads of my Silo Storage #Storage which is way more than I thought I would get in a few days. A few people have dm'd me with advice and help, just wanted to apologize and say that I can't reply directly as my level account privileges don't same to be high enough :)
Once I hit 100 downloads I'll work on a small development, so if you'd like to see further dev then you can help by adding other the poll below. This is just the first round of dev I'll do and hope to add more each few weeks.
So please choose what you would like to see added to this project, I can't promise the winner will be the first add on because at least one of these is going to be difficult to do, but I can promise it will be the first one I look at.

#Usergames
I saw that the third challenge is desktop storage and my Silo Storage system is sat on my desk right now full of batteries, bearings, bead bracelets, usb cables, spare coins from my travels, memory cards, craft knife blades etc. So I thought I might enter it into this challenge.
I have extensions to this model coming (time permitting) such as smaller boxes, wall hanger brackets for individual cassettes, and taller boxes for pencils and craft knives etc.
It's based on sci-fi and cassettefuturism style, the cassettes (boxes) rotate in layers around a modular tower. You can just build the cassettes individually without the tower and a full single cassettes only takes 1 plate.

I'm into sci-fi and cassettefuturism looks so i thought about the storage boxes that are often shown circling round corridors on spacecraft. I wanted something that could hold larger things but still could be printed on an X1C. During making this I made a ton of 50% size prototypes…which looked kinda cute and would be practical for storing all the small stuff on my tables and desks. So I decided to work on these 50% size boxes, and I needed a system to hold a lot of them. A Silo then.
