This is a really neat model. I can say that it's really hard in photos to get a good sense of the geometry and how it shifts from looking square in some directions to looking more hexagonal (from the truncated octahedral faces) from others. It took me a while before I was able to even properly see that the model (when printed twice for the full shape) is self similar by being made of 24 copies that are roughly 26% the height. If I did my math right, that would give this a fractal dimension of about 2.35.
My print was just a test print, where I scaled it all down by 50% but still used a 0.4mm nozzle. The print still came out looking pretty good despite that, so I have no doubt the full size model would look great with a 0.4mm nozzle.
I also played with reducing supports. I cut the model into 6ths and reoriented them and was able to get it down to only 1 gram of supports (black) for 40 grams of model (and 2.7g of prime tower). The whole thing took about 13 hours to print at this scale.

This printed absolutely perfectly. I used white PETG for the main body, blue PETG for the screws, and burgundy 98a TPU for the jaws (98a is fairly stiff, but still soft enough to conform a little to whatever you're holding, so I think they'll work well).
As far as operation goes, everything is better than I could have hoped. The screws turn smoothly, and just glide effortlessly after adding a few drops of lube. I tested the strength by cranking down pretty hard on the main screw, and it didn't seem like it was close to breaking, so I expect it will hold up for a while.
The only problem I had was during assembly, I missed the end of the main screw with the clip, so it wasn't captured. I had a pretty hard time trying to remove the clip so I could try again - a better notch in the clip to give some leverage would have helped greatly. But really, it's a very minor issue, and doesn't change my opinion that this every bit as great a print as anyone could hope for one to be.
