Years ago my friend Steve had an idea for a ruler that would show measurements for 12" like a standard US ruler, but was actually only 7-8" long, so in pictures anything placed next to it would appear larger than it actually is. I'm having trouble thinking of where this might be useful but I'm guessing one could come up with something :)
