This is one of my first more serious contest entries. With SORTEX, I wanted to focus on a functional, modular design that is fast to print and genuinely useful in a workshop environment. The project came from experimenting, testing, and iterating, with the goal of keeping it accessible for other makers, including customizable inserts and support-free prints. [New version will follow] One of the use cases for the project is supporting elderly people with dementia. The key remains a familiar and trusted object, while the integrated NFC tag can be scanned to display essential information such as name, home address, or an emergency contact. Another scenario is everyday use. If someone finds your lost key, they can easily scan the NFC tag and quickly contact you, increasing the chance of getting it back safely.
