My kid came home with an early 2000's vintage Sony CFD-V177 CD Player. With a cassette deck! (Remember those?) But it had no cover to the battery compartment. So I reverse-engineered the cover plate. Eight iterations later, here it is. Hope you can use it!

A friend turned me on to a really nice set of picks and tweezers – made by Ivyne, the grips are silicone which makes them super grippy! But I wanted a low profile box that could also be a tray while I am using them. So I designed this Grippy Picks Box. Check out the tool set at https://ivynecrafting.com (I am not affiliated, I just like the product!) And if you decide to buy a set, here's a box for you!

I recently picked up a 1970's vintage Craftsman tool cabinet. All of the drawers were falling off the rails, because it was missing most of the retaining clips in the friction slides! You can buy replacement clips, but at $2 each and four per drawer and 9 drawers, that's upwards of $70 just for the clips! That's more than I paid for the whole tool cabinet! Madness! So I made these… so far, so good!

I busted the battery cover on one of our nice wax-body electric candles when I dropped it. Before 3D printing, I would have reached for duct tape. Time elapsed for repair: under a minute! But now with 3D printing, I can spend hours reverse-engineering the broken part in CAD, making test prints that almost-not-quite work, and eventually produce something that works. Time elapsed for repair: At least six hours! Technology is amazing… at wasting time. But now we have a perfect replacement part.

My daughter was given a VOPLLS K3 Projector for Christmas. Oddly, it included no protective cap for the lens! Well. Can't have that. So I designed this. :)

Need a place to stash your countersink bit so it won't get separated from your DeWalt drill bits set? Me too, so here it is! I printed an insert I found on Thingiverse, but found my drill bits were too long for it to fit. So I drew up a new version, but compact. Fusion CAD file available (CC-BY-NC). Enjoy! And yes, the purple clashes horribly with DeWalt Yellow. I recommend using Manly Black or Rugged Guy Yellow or Village People Construction Guy Blue so you can show your tacticool. ;)

Build-a-Bear stuffed animals are great, beloved by my kids and probably yours too. But their footwear? Those boots and shoes are not so robust, with nothing to stop the toe boxes from being crushed, dented, spindled, folded, and mutilated. When Kuromi-chan entered the house with her not-so-steel-toed Butt Kicking Boots, it was clear they needed some help…

Printed this for a member of a Ducati forum who was unable to find the OEM part. Printed one in black TPU 95A (flawless), then did one in PETG red, adding Ducati and Magneti-Marelli logos for fun. Hopefully the PETG will fit nicely, but if not, the TPU should do the job. Thanks so much for posting this model!

Meet Cappy McRailface! We bought a generic roof rack for our car from the big river e-tailer in the US. The first time I removed an end cap to change T-track attachments, it broke. As did the other three. Replacements are not available. Ugh, disposable products! So I spent a truly stupid amount of time iterating measure-draw-print-repeat until I produced these. I learned a lot about Autodesk Fusion along the way. The user interface is a pain the butt, but worth it in the end.

The 44mm profile, with smooth back and sides, is an excellent modification! I made a little holder for them, since I was annoyed they were rattling around loose in a drawer. Now they're nicely corralled and easy to grab and use!

Love it! I printed this as decor for my tool cabinet. First I printed black with purple background, but since I was putting it on a black surface, I re-did it in white on purple. It looks great! (There are some slight imperfections in the print, probably because I was using uncalibrated third party PETG. Not the designer's fault.)

Who can leave well enough alone? I remixed Steve Wagg's side mount filament holder to add a low friction PTFE surface to the spool arm, and adjust the filament guide position to make my feed path less bendy. Now a have a nice place to put an auxiliary spool on the side of my printer. CC-BY-SA 3.0. You may want to use a more interesting filament color, though. Anycubic's "Texture Gray" PETG is an impressively ugly grey. Oooof.

I've been using not-quite-right cardboard boxes to hold cans of cat food on our kitchen counter. I wanted something better. The internet and creative commons provides! I found a lovely 12-can dispenser for the 3oz (85g) cans we buy. But we keep a variety of flavors on hand, because spoiled cats, so I wanted to be able to label them. So I quickly hauled these into TinkerCAD, added a label tab for 30x40mm labels, and hit print. CA-BY-4.0, remixes encouraged!

I printed this to make it easy to cover the display light at night. Nice tight fit, great and simple design. It even prints 2-color via AMS without a huge waste or time penalty! Do yourself a favor and use a textured plate if your filament isn't calibrated. It hides a multitude of sins. (I made the mistake of not calibrating for a filament i'd never used in this machine before, so i got some under-extrusion. And on a smooth plate it's *really* obvious. But that's on me, not the designer.)

I was worried that a print with so many intricate, complex geometry changes would have trouble printing. Nope! We went with Bambu Silk PLA in Gold and it looks amazing. I forgot to take a "finished" photo but even half-way done it looked pretty great:

Very nicely designed and tuned. Printed with a mix of SUNLU PETG and some 6+ year old natural/clear PETG I had on hand. Everything fit perfectly! (the mismatched hinge is my own error, not the profile or project design.)
