Description

Description

This box is a straightforward and printer-friendly solution designed to store all components of the Tetris Balance Game, such as the version by ATTV85. It's likely compatible with other similar versions, provided they haven't been extensively altered, though I haven't personally verified this. I designed two versions of the box, both capable of accommodating all the pieces. The smaller box requires a methodical arrangement of each piece, while the larger box offers the convenience of simply depositing all pieces without the need for specific order. Since the platform piece in the game is optional, you have the option to bypass it, allowing for extra space for the required pieces. If you choose to do so, the box can be conveniently utilized as a substitute platform. The lid features an integrated Tetris logo, offering an optional two-color print for added aesthetic appeal.

You can find another model with a sliding lid here. It uses ~25% less filament, prints ~50% faster and the sliding mechanism is very easy.

This is arguably the simplest and best box for the Tetris balance game. I've printed this box multiple times as I got a little bit carried away with printing copies of the game to people I know who really enjoy collecting games. While the box is good, there is room for improvement. The most obvious part is that the corners on the container part are designed square and due to the nature of 3D printing this means the lid doesn't fit very well and each corner requires quite a lot of filing with a metal file to put a quarter circle chamfer on the container outside corners. The creator should consider adding a 3mm chamfer on the outside of all the 4 corners of the container where the lid slides on. The lid will be a perfect fit and due to the layers of the print, the lid will still hold tight on the container due to the friction on the 4 sides but not get stuck in the corners. Additionally the container really could use a divider wall between the base plate and the game pieces so when the box is jostled and the pieces move, they don't fall "under" the curved base plate and creating a situation where the lid won't close due to jumbled pieces. In this situation one must empty the container, put in the base plate and re-stack the game pieces to close the lid properly. A simple divider wall that's either 50% or 2/3rds of the internal height of the container would solve this issue. Other than that, awesome model unfortunately cannot figure out how to give 5 stars, but 5/5 stars!!

Box je v pohodě. Já tiskl jen v jedné barvě. Moje chyba, s tou zlatou nahoře vypadá lépe. Asi dobarvim.

Hi, love the design, I will definitely be printing the box. But I have a question. Is it possible to print the lid with two colors without an ams? Example - If I open your profile in bamboo studio and print it on my A1, will it notify me to change the filament at the appropriate time?

To provide a more accurate assessment, I must admit that my understanding of the slicer's response in this scenario is uncertain. It's possible that the slicer might adjust and prompt for manual filament changes, although I cannot confirm this. A practical solution would involve reorienting the lid so that the text appears on the upper side. Subsequently, reposition the text body above the lid, ensuring it is not merged with it.

This alteration results in the text being embossed on the surface, with distinct layers assigned to it. In the slicer's preview, you can then specifically assign a manual filament swap to these individual layers. You can reach out to me if you are stuck at some point and I will gladly provide a corresponding print profile.
