Chopstick Trap – Game Instructions Game Contents:

 • 1 Box with Lid

• 2 Dice

• 35 Chopsticks

Variant A

Game Rules

1. Game Setup:

• Each player takes a seat around the box

• The chopsticks are distributed evenly among the players

(or a common number is determined)

2. Gameplay:

• Players take turns in sequence

• The player rolls one die

• The rolled result determines the hole in the box:

              • If a 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 is rolled, the player must insert a chopstick into the corresponding hole

              • If the hole is already occupied, the player takes the chopstick

              • If a 6 is rolled, the player must insert a chopstick into the corresponding hole and the chopstick disappears into the box

3. Game End:

• The game ends when a player has no more chopsticks

• The player who runs out of chopsticks wins

Optional Variant

• 2 dice are used, same rules

• In the event of doubles, the player may choose a hole (except the 6)

• With two 6s, the player may place two chopsticks in the 6 hole

Variant B

Chopstick Trap – Game Instructions

Game Contents:

  • 1 Box with Lid
  • 1 Die
  • 32 Chopsticks

Game Setup:

  • At the beginning of the game, the

32 chopsticks are distributed evenly among all players

  • Any remaining chopsticks are set aside

Game Objective:

  • The first player to get rid of all their chopsticks wins

Gameplay:

  1. Players roll the die in turn, clockwise. Only one die is used each time
  2. The player who first rolls a six starts the game
  3. The active player rolls and inserts one of their chopsticks into the hole in the box

that corresponds to the number rolled:

    • Holes 1–5: The chopstick remains in the corresponding hole
    • Hole 6: The chopstick falls through the box into the large compartment
  4. The player may roll as long as:
    • They roll a six (the chopstick is thrown into the compartment)
    • Or they roll a number whose hole is already occupied by a chopstick In this case, the player must take a chopstick back from the lid
  5. The game ends when a player has gotten rid of all their chopsticks

Special Rules and Strategies:

  • A player may roll as many times as they like in one turn to get rid of their chopsticks as quickly as possible
  • After rolling a six, the player can decide whether to continue rolling or pass the die to the next player
  • If a player has only three or fewer chopsticks left, they may not pass the die They must continue until they get rid of all their chopsticks or the game ends
