Description

Summary

new mk3 version is here:
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6363659

This is upgraded version MK2 of Small wind turbine. But it is just model aprox. 500 mm length, it does not produce any electric or mechanical energy.
I made some changes regarding better covering bearings from rain water, and some changes to remove massive support needed for print first version. Now only support is needed for blade itself, because it is printed in horizontal position. That is why also mechanical properties of the blade is far better now.
Blade and all parts with M8 thread printed in 0,15 mm layer and propeller_hub with M4 thread printed in 0,1 mm. Other parts printed in 0,2 mm.
I added also spiral groove at front propeller_hub, I think it looks better now ...
Other material for finish assembly is the same:
4x ball bearing 618, 628, d=8 mm, D= 16 mm W=5 mm
3x screw M4x20 mm
7x nuts M8 but narrow DIN439
1x steel thread rod M8 cut L=432 mm. (rest to 1 m is used as vertical pole)

Material I used PET-G.
Vertical holder is M8 steel rod, you have to fix it to wall or fence pole or...
And I upload also SolidWorks files of whole turbine assembly.

Next gen will be equipped with permanent magnets generator of the electricity and some LEDs on blades. So magnets will be fixed and cloils with LEDs will be spinning with rotor. Hopefully it will produce enough energy to light LEDs on.

EDIT 3.April 2019:

After storm wind I found broken vertical holder where there is hole for M8 rod.
I changed design of that part and I make it more strong by changind diameter from 15 mm to 18 mm. I changed also neighbour parts "front body" and "rear body". All three parts has number 202 now. I keep also older parts design with numbers 201. But I reccomend to print new design parts. Layer 0,16 mm, 6x perimeter. 30% infill. Support only wall with angle 15°.
Now it has to resist any storm...
