Description

This is a modular remote holder to solve the world's not so much first problem.

At least 3 parts needs to be printed in order to have a functional item.

Every holder has their internal dimensions in their name, so the 35x20.stl will allow sufficient space for a remote that's smaller than 35mm in width and 20mm in thickness.

IMPORTANT! every holder is 5mm wider than it's name. That means a 35x20mm holder will have a 40mm width on the rail. Keep this in mind when you choose the correct lenght of the rail.

I made a rail for the most application from a single 35mm holder(that's 40mm wide) up to 200mm, that can take up to 5 remotes.

Overall there are 20 different size holder the biggest is 50x35mm and the smallest is 35x15mm. All holders have a depth of 43mm. Also there are 28 different lenght for rails, so you'll find one for the most use case. If you can't find the correct size holder for your remote, or you want a longer rail, feel free to contact me.

ASSEMBLY

It's very easy and straight forward. Print every part in their original orientation, and you won't need support.

Attach the rail to the designated place(i.e. on the wall, or the side of a furniture). You can use double sided tape or you can use screws. there are 4mm holes with chamfer so you should use countersunk head screws of the correct size.

Once the rail is mounted, slide in the “joint squares” and slide on the holders of your choice.

For the "joint square" you'll have 0.2mm tolerance in every direction, so most printer should be able to print it, without problem at the assembly. if you run into tolerance issue, try to scale the models by 1-2% on the given axis.

Rails in general needs a brim, especially the longer ones. since the model has a small contact area with the bed, it is stronly suggested to use a brim. if you still run into adhesion issues, try a raft, as in many cases it can be stronger, and might have a better contact with the part.

The short rails(40,45,50 and 55mm) are designed to hold one remote, and only have one hole for mounting, hence they might have a tendency to tilt. to solve this, you might want to add some double sided tape to the back of the rail. For the longer rails, i suggest mounting them with at least 2 crews. There are screw holes at every 20mm along the rails, so you can secure them very well if you want.

I'm planning to update the design in the future, as per request and also want to improve the printability of the rails, that would mean a new joining peace/method. We'll see how the current system performs.

If you have any question or request, feel free to contact me.
