Description

Introduction

I wanted to have a more comfortable experience playing old Atari (2600, XL/XE) games on original HW. Atari's own CX40 never felt so good, so I created my own.

You can also find attached a zip archive containing the necessary gerber files for PCBWay in order to assemble your controller.

Necessary Parts

1x Sanwa Denshi Joystick with Base (JLX-TP-8YT-SK)

1x Sanwa Denshi 24mm Push Button (OBSC24)

1x Sanwa Denshi Clear Bat Top (LB30N, or equivalent)

1x Joystick wiring board (attached to “Other Parts”)

1x Atari controller extension cord

2x M3x8 (to attach wiring board

4x M3 Nuts (2.4mm thick. 2 below the wiring board, 2 above the wiring board)

4x M3x12 (to secure the lid)

4x M5x12 Carriage bolts (to secure Sanwa Joystick)

4x Nuts for the carriage bolts

4x Adhesive rubber feet

Wires and crimpers as necessary.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WARNING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even though the render of the PCB shows upright/vertical pin headers, make sure to use horizontal/90 degree bent headers otherwise the joystick will not have enough clearance to sit within the enclosure.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOTICE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Make sure to download the Gerbers for the joystick adapter board.
