Description

This is my first attempt at a lightbox model, I will be printing it out and ultimately giving it to a family member as a gift, but I wanted to share with the Bambu community as well. Please take pictures and post how yours turned out!

0.12 Layer Height

IMPORTANT Wall Generator: leave as Arachne (other wise the fine details in the black layer will not print properly)

Also important, in your bed settings, change the filament sequence to custom so that Black will print first.

I had to adjust elephants foot comprensation on this one to prevent gaps in the print, letting light through but it came up a treat after that!

Is it possible to print this without an AMS? I don't have one yet... Or is it a ton of filament changes with AMS, so wouldn't be easily possible without?

In total you'd be looking at 8 color changes, it is absolutely possible to do it without an AMS. The colored layers only print 2 layers so as long as you are on top of the manual layer changes, you should be okay. Just make sure to preview the print after you slice it so that you can see how many layers the project is in total and when you'll have to do each swap.

Does the project automatically pause when you need to change? Or do I need to add pauses? I see that it's just two layers of colors, but I'm not sure how to pause between colors when the colors are on the same layer.

I believe you can add the M600 command in the tool/color change custom gcode section for your printers preferences so it will automatically pause each time it needs a different color.
