Description

Draft design of future hyper-sonic transport vehicle. This vehicle has 6 engines. The nozzles are printed separately and fits into vehicle. The vehicle is a vertical takeoff, vertical landing vehicle with three control surfaces (wings). The model has “mouse ears” on the three wings to support printing. This reduces the requirement for brim. They are easily removed post printing.

The stl files include a forward section and an aft section. You can print them separately with the flat ends on the print surface but with any warping they will not connect evenly. I had that issue so I chose to print them as a single body.

I decided to include the STEP files for the single piece vehicle and the nozzle. If you want to use the STEP file but in two pieces then you have the option to have your slicer program cur the body in half.

So, I include 5 files: 3 stl files for the forward section, the aft section and the nozzle (you need to print 6 of these). I also included 2 STEP files: one for the whole body and one nozzle.

The support of the bottom is crucial and hard to get perfect. I originally decided to add ‘perfect putty’ and sand the resulting surface. This was successful and that is the picture included, but when I print again I plan to use normal support with layers of PETG as interface between support and model. I have had great success with this procedure in the recent past.

I would love to see some makes, please upload.
