Description

Hey y'all,

I received this portable USB soldering iron as a gift and I didn't like the flimsy molded insert that it came in. The case that carried it all was fine, but the flimsy molded thin plastic insert had to go. So, I replaced it with my SolderBox. The SolderBox fits snugly inside the case and allows the soldering iron to sit inside fully assembled, which the flimsy insert did not allow. When in use, you can prop up the soldering iron with the stand. When you're done and the iron is cool, you can flip down the stand and store it. The SolderBox holds the fully assembled soldering iron, the USB charging cable, and the original solder spool. The extra space can be filled with a sponge or a brass sponge to clean the iron tip. My set did not come with extra soldering tips, but they could probably fit in there some where.

The stand prints in place. When it is finished printing, bend the two parts to break loose the parts.

When installing, slightly bend the two legs to fit into the two holes in the soldering iron storage area.

I printed it at 0.16mm layer height with 3 walls. It is probably overkill, so you can adjust it to your liking.

Hope it can be useful.
