Description

Flexible, or better said, rollable brick base plate, compatible with ordinary bricks. It can be conveniently rolled to save space when packed for travel, however, is very satisfying on its own. It was inspired by a 3D-printed fabric. You might like also smaller variant that bends both ways.

- 22 x 22 studs (fills the A1 Mini print plate)

- Bottom holes are stud compatible.

- Plate height is exactly 1 brick tile.

NOTE: Print the small test file first – it contains all the plate different building parts and is placed on the print plate edge to test kind of worst case scenario. Check the studs compatibility with your bricks and check the flexible joints. If you encounter any issues, please, let me know so I can optimize the design. Tolerances to achieve good fit are really tight.

I printed it using silk PLA on Bambu A1 Mini with stock textured plate. Color I used is mildly said strange, so feel free to share with me your more appropriate choices in the comments :)

Instructions on how to release print in place hinges after print are in the below video.

Slicing might take some time, please, be patient.

PLEASE, PRINT THE FULL 22 x 22 PLATE ONLY AFTER SUCCESSFUL SMALLER TEST PRINT to avoid frustration due to long print time and nearly 100g of material used. When printing, monitor first 2 layers which are the riskiest ones.

The plate bends downwards in X and Y direction – I uploaded also plate that bends upwards and downwards, but then there are larger gaps when laying flat.

Half size parts on each side allow you to connect additional plate with bricks and keep the roll diameter.
