Description

This tool serves as a compact assistant for consistently trimming the PTFE tube to the recommended 30mm for the AMS Feeder Button Cover Protector. If the tube becomes lodged inside, assist by gently pushing it with a small object, such as a piece of filament or a paperclip, from the far end toward the opening. To prevent the tube from getting stuck, straighten it thoroughly before inserting it.

Update

25.12.2023: The pushback mechanism has been relocated to the top, eliminating the need to probe into the PTFE tube. This modification makes the new pushback slot more user-friendly and accessible. Please note that third-party print profiles may not always be current or updated.

Maybe I'm missing something, but there's only 1 hole, where the PTFE tube goes in. If you put it in, cut it, how do you get it out?

Thank you for reaching out instead of hastily leaving a negative review! Given the low friction properties of PTFE, the cut tube should easily slide out of the tool, aided merely by gravity. Simply tilt it towards the opening for this to happen. I've successfully cut about 500 pieces using this method without any issues of sticking. However, if you encounter any difficulties, please don't hesitate to leave a message for assistance.

My apologies, I honestly should have looked at the hole diameter before asking a question like that. :P It makes perfect sense now, thanks! I was looking for something like this, so I'll give it a go!

Your comment prompted me to reassess the design and consider potential problems. While I haven't personally encountered any issues, I now realize that the tube might become stuck if bent excessively. Although this seems unlikely given its current length, I've updated the model to include a semi-circular opening at the end, providing a means to easily dislodge the tube if necessary.
