Description

The second of a series of arched gothic cathedral windows I've designed (at least one more planned for future).

The intent is to simulate stained glass with translucent PETG “panes”.

As such, they make great window hangers when used with suction cup hooks (like these) and some kind of string! But you can also go with opaque filament and just hang it on a wall too!

If you don't use my print profile, make sure you set custom infill patterns for best results!

I used different infill types for each color region!

Suncatchers Printed on P1S with 0.4mm nozzle and AMS on Engineering Plate. I used the following filaments:

  1. GreenGate Translucent Purple Recycled PETG (if using Bambu, you could try their translucent purple or a different color!)

*I didn't have any translucent red petg. Bambu doesn't offer it.

  2. Bambu PETG HF Black
  3. Bambu PETG Translucent Clear
  4. Bambu PETG Translucent Gray
  5. “Son Lou” PETG Transparent Red (the word of the brand is not allowed on this site?!)
*my new updated print profile was made with this red. Bambu still doesn't offer a red translucent petg.

Ornaments Printed on P1S with 0.4mm nozzle and AMS on Textured PEI Plate. I used the following filaments:

  1. Bambu PLA Basic (Black)
  2. Bambu PLA Basic (Dark Gray)
  3. Bambu PLA Basic (Gray)
  4. Bambu PLA Basic (Red)

Tips:

  • Make sure you're confident in your purge volumes and nozzle wiping, so as not to get color smudges that can ruin the print.
  • You can print this in 4 colors, or go with less. I've shown it in 4 colors in the photos.
  • If you want to just do 2 colors, you can “cheat” and change color by layer if you don't have an AMS or don't want to perform more than 1 manual swap!
