Description

This is an old school type of fire engine based on the Yellow Zil Truck Chassis model that I have released earlier. In that release itself I have explained how it is the universal platform on which various payloads can be added for specific function. This release contains the Lowboy Trailer payload of the same.

If you have already downloaded and printed Yellow Zil Truck Chassis model, You would only need " Yellow_Zil_SAM_Truck_Payload.3mf" file and Please skip to the title ASSEMBLY OF PAYLOAD.

There are three ways to print this.

  1. As single piece:- Please download STL file but there wont be any movements.
  2. Multiple Pieces :- Download 3mf file with Full_dismantled.3mf.BEST QUALITY OUTPUT. Please use the 3mf file for assembly also.
  3. Combined:- You may use any 3D viewer software like 3D builder in windows to merge components according to your printer and filaments. The sky is the limit for this. You may find a sample file ending with combined.3mf.

ASSEMBLY OF CHASSIS

Movements Included

  1. Front Wheel Steering
  2. Engine Bay Cover Swing Open

NOTE The tolerances to some elements are zero which has been intensionally provided to friction lock the elements while not in movements. You may have to fine tune the tolerance from your end using scaling funtion in slicer to ensure good fit without compromising movements. This also applies for the pins that make rotation possible between elements. Please proceed with printing all the pins after testing printing a pin and testing the fit of a joint. You should be able to find the adequate scaling factor with this.

The main body is made hollow to ensure filament savings.

Supports should be provided as required.

Appreciate the makes uploads. Open for suggestions.

What pins or screws do you use to hold the trim on? I made the trailer and it came together. Took me a while to figure it out. used a vise to assemble parts, I made half of them in PLA-CF carbon fiber which is overkill. Do need a bit of glue. I rearranged the sheets to need less support. Pretty pleased. ANd did the tyres in TPU-95. So I had to move them to their own sheet.

Hi there. Thanks for the feedback and support man. I hope you will consider adding your optimized print profiles and make images. It would be a great help to future makers. If you are referring to the small pins holes used through out the model, then try using a piece of normal 1.75mm filament itself. I have designed the pin with 1.75mm filament in mind. If this is not the pins you have problem with, please share an image of the part for me to check. Please do let me know if you need any help with any models/projects. I try to reply at the earliest. Thanks again
