Description

This is an official component set by Bambu Lab for the A1 printer. The AMS lite Top Mount setup is a tested solution for mounting the AMS lite on top of the A1 printer.

The component set consists of two main modules:

  1. Top Mount Bracket
  2. Z-Axis Stiffener

The Top Mount Bracket is meticulously designed to be tilted to the front for better balance. Additionally, the upper half of the bracket can spin left and right, providing easier access to the back spools.

The Z-axis Stiffener is designed to dampen back-and-forth printer movements. Thanks to the special elastic damper design at the bottom, there is minimum wobble even when printing in ludicrous speed with AMS lite fully loaded.

Assembly

Here is a tutorial video for the installation:

You can also buy the required hardware as a kit from here:

I didn't quite trust that the latch wouldn't just give way at some point so I put Heat Insets into the latch as back up. See attached.

Make sure you order your screws with your printer if you want this? For a $1.99 they should be included in my opinion with all printer or at least prompt you at check out to add to your bundle like the other stuff they are trying to get you to add.

Couldn't agree more. I think this is still a good value at the price point but for 80 cents worth of hardware it seems like a no-brainer to include this. I'm guessing 25% or more of users will go this route ultimately. I almost wonder why this wasn't the primary design from Bambu - maybe it's that they already had the tooling for the stand-alone and the cantilever A1 mini obviously wouldn't work with this design.

They are included... try the screws that keep your bed in place for shipping

your plate has two screws and two locks . but your official video you only need one of each . this is a waste of time and plastic

what if you're like me and just want the z brace ? I just want to stiffen the z axis so it doesn't wobble and I think this is the best design in gonna ever find regardless of what screws I end up using in there. I have enough for the the two z axis braces in the bottom if I just use the screws that came with it right?

Printed twice and had the same issues with support material clogging up screw holes, and parts cracking on installing the m3x20 screws (shown in photo). I'll be looking for another way to mount the AMS lite.

Same thing happened to me. I reprinted the cracked piece with thicker walls and more infill. Then I drilled the screw holes slightly larger so the screws could slide in and through freely. Then be careful that the screws are threading into the bores in the latch piece.

had similar problem. my bolt didnt go through hole well which affected how this clamps on bar and whether latch can close. i reprinted it. this time holes were open and when i put in bolt i was able the close latch fully.

do you have an IKEA Skadis peg board near your print area? there is a file for mounting it on one and I remember one that mounts directly to the wall I broke the one that first printed and ended up using the peg board hanger (less stress on the printer frame)

I love the design but the parts kit being $1.99 I wonder why it wasn't simply included with the $559 price tag. I imagine a very large percentage of A1 users will go top mount.

My thought this was something kind of put out after the fact. I might be misremembering but I didn't think the initial top mount print included the back supports braces. So at that point, the AMS Combo as a package is already in production and being put together.

Pretty good design. The supports were a bit of a pain to remove but not too bad. I might get some better rubber pads to put under the printer as it still seems like it can rock front and back too much but maybe it's fine. I printed mine in Sunlu gray PLA+
