Description

A strengthened version of the pastamatic drive screw. The part has been split into two parts, the cone/spiral joint and the part with the ¼ inch hexagonal drive slot. The hexagonal section has also been elongated so that a longer drive shaft will engage fully. By making this a separate part it can be printed with 100% infill or whatever value is desired. In combination these features make the part far stronger around the hexagonal hole and so less likely to fail.

Apologies for the interesting colour scheme, it used the remainder of several different reels of filament.

Wrong version was uploaded with gear teeth too shallow. New version has original gear teeth profile restored. Thank you to moeknews for pointing this out.

Edit: The updated version works great. Much stronger than the original.

Thank you for reporting this. I unfortunately uploaded the wrong version of the print profile. I have now corrected this. I'd appreciate it if you could confirm that the problem is resolved.

The original drive has deep grooves between the gear teeth. Also the one you printed and have showing on your cover image has deep grooves in between the gear teeth. The actual file you uploaded has very shallow grooves though. For me it's having a hard time engaging the other gears well enough to drive the pastamatic. It mostly just slips. Is there a version of the file we're missing that has grooves more like the one you printed, and/or like the original?
