Description

A more sturdy version of my brick (L.E.G.O) wall mount that can hold larger models like UCS Snowspeeder, Tie fighter, X-Wing and similarly sized models.

The smaller wall mounts can be found here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/897384#profileId-855689

Large wide models (like the UCS X-wing with 45cm span) requires the longest angled arm to clear the wall.

Not compatible with my smaller version apart from the plaque holder, but has the same design and should look good together.

The fit can be a bit snug depending on the printer and setting, so be sure to test the parts together before mounting them on the wall. After a test fit and separation any tightness should go away.

Build plates:

  1. Wall mount with countersink holes.

  2. Wall mount with counterbore holes.
Wall mount plaque holder version with counterbore holes.
  3. Two angled (30 degrees) arms, 185mm and 215mm long. With "UCS" stud in the middle that is the size of a 2x2 brick and a 4x4 with studs around to lock the model in place.

  4. Two straight arms, 125mm and 174mm long. With "UCS" stud in the middle that is the size of a 2x2 brick and a 4x4 with studs around to lock the model in place.

  5. Two angled (30 degrees) arms, 185mm and 215mm long. With a standard 4x4 plate.

  6. Two straight arms, 125mm and 174mm long. With a standard 4x4 plate.

  7. Plaque holder

Technical info:

Wall mounts
Countersink - 9mm wide
Counterbore - 10mm wide, 2,5mm deep

Print considerations:

Does not need supports to print.

Printed with 3 walls and pyramid infill at 30%

Limit speed if you see deformations on the 4x4 mount stem on the arms. I had issues with overheating with both Bambu PLA Basic and Sunlu PLA and had to limit the print speed to 100mm/s.
