Description

Hello guys! I wanna share with you my last design to upgrade your Prusa MK3/MK3s or MK3s+.

This mod adds a linear guide on the X axis and changes the rods from 8mm to 10mm like the Prusa Mk4.

With this mod you will gain more robustness in the Z axis and better maintenance and noise reduction in the X axis. The mod in X was already known, until now nobody had mounted 10mm rods in Z axes on the original Prusa frame!

I shared all STLs and STEPs.

Enjoy it!

I have design 2 versions: You can choose the one you need depending on the rods you get.

- Z rods Ø10mm lenght 320mm like Prusa lenght.

- Z rods Ø10mm lenght 322mm like Caribou lenght.

The X parts are the same on both versions, however the Ztop and Zmotor mount parts are different.

You need following materials:

2 units - Misumi or similar linear bearing LMUW10.

1 unit - Dowel Pin 2.9mm x 14mm for x-idler tensioner.

1 unit - 2GT 6mm Belt Timing Pulley 16T Toothless.

Screws:

4 units – 3x30mm (for bearings)

3/4 units – 3x12mm (for X motor mount (depending on the version chosen, closed or open)

4 units – 3x14mm (for trapezoidal POM nut)

12 units – 3x10mm ( use the same Prusa stock Ztop and Motor Mount Z)

1 unit – 3x18mm (for X belt tensioner)

Nuts:

You can use M3 nuts but I prefer locking nuts.

10 units – Locking nut M3 ( 4 for pom, 4 for bearings, 1 for X tensor and 1 for pushing X guide)

Note:

The pictures are previous version where the Zmotor mount screws were not hidden and the ztop were slightly protruding from the frame.

Current files here in Printables are more aesthetic.

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING:

This Mod has been tested more than 300 hours printing ASA by my friend Gabi 3dt from TG.

I added some pictures of results printing ASA.

Gabi 3dt Thank you for your support, without you it would not have been possible.
