Description

Update 12/12/2024

  • Added mount for max iPhone 12-15 using an even thicker case, specifically a spigen case.
  • Added a bracket to use with monitors, fit's monitors up to 30mm thick.
  • This is now available for commercial licensing, check my bio for more info.

Please always check the print profiles for new phone mounts. If you phone is not yet on the list, please don't hesitate to let me know and comment your dimensions, I'll get to make one for you when I can :)

Update 11/12/2024

  • Added mount for the following phones:

    • Samsung S22 ultra with UAG case.
    • iPhone 12-15 max with moment case.
    • Pixel 7 with a case on.
    • Poco M4 pro.
    • Nothing phone 2.

So after a lot of feedback from the last phone mount and a lot of redesigning and testing, today I give you guys my new monitor clamp phone mount.

While the other mount was designed to fit a very specific use case it was made clear to me that most of you did not have that use in mind but would like to still mount your phone to your screen, some of you would like to mount it to your laptop while some of you would rather it mount to a desktop monitor. I'm happy to say that this is able to be clamped to both!

I should clarify that I'm calling it a clamp but it's not a clamp really, there's a fitment bold but it's only meant to snug up the fit between the bracket and your monitor. Monitors can be fragile devices and so I designed this with that in mind. You do not need to screw it down with any kind of force, you're really just trying to snug up the bracket so it doesn't move much. Be careful whilst you tighten this. In a future revision I will attempt to do away with the bolt altogether but for now it was the best solution I could find to make this fit a variety of monitors and not just one. Speaking of which, you could have trouble fitting this over some thicker desktop monitors and if that is the case, please message me and I can work with you to try and make a wider version, I just don't have any larger monitors that this wouldn't fit myself.

There's some assembly but it's really easy, just start with the arm on a flat surface, fit the monitor bracket on top of it and then use the fitment bolt housing to squeeze everything into place. Slide the phone mount in between the swivel point and fit the swivel pin inside the hole. If you have any issues with the fitment of the swivel pin you can easily adjust it using the slicer. In the quality tab in the x-y contour compensation select -0.1 or -0.2, should be enough with -0.1 but there you go. Then just fit it to your monitor!

As the pictures show, you can also use this to mount your phone on top of your monitor rather than the side, you can use this to use your phone as a webcam for example among other things. It doesn't work anywhere near as well as on the side though because the connection between the phone mount and the arm is made using only a simple pin so currently there is no way to tighten it so it doesn't move from side to side. Another thing I will have to work on for a future revision but for now it works good enough ahah.

I have only made two sized mounts, one fits all plus sized iphones from 12-15 and is case friendly and the other one fits regular sized iphones from 12-15 with a case as well but if you don't use a case you should be fine still, it just wont be as snug. I didn't have any other phones available to me to create the mount but if you use anything other than iPhone just message me and you can help me work on getting a mount made for other phones!

If you like this design, please consider boosting me. Designing and prototyping takes a lot of time and filament, specially on functional designs like this one. Boosting is a massive help in order for me to keep making new models for you to enjoy.

Thank you.

If you like this design maybe check out my previous one as well, while it is nowhere near as polished of a solution as this one in my opinion, it fits a very specific use case and maybe that is you.

As always I really hope to see your guys' comments and feedback and I can't wait to see you using this.

Thank you all and happy printing.

that's very weird, I created the 3mf in Bambu studio so maybe that's why? I would suggest either trying bambu studio or downloading the stl? If someone else know's how to help please give a hand, I have no idea how why this would happen

what about a phone mount that adjusts...more like a universal phone mount. I have a galaxy s22 ultra with a UAG case on it. printed out the arm just need to find a bracket to hold phone.

14.12 thick 82.98 wide 169.16 tall sunlu pink. thanks so much...still think a universal holder would be a good idea...maybe even with a way to angle the phone up or down some

Thank you! By the way, which mount do you think would be the best for the iPhone 8? That's the phone I have at the moment haha.

hey! I'm sorry I'm only replying now I missed this comment. For now the best mount for the iPhone 8 will definitely be the regular iPhone mount but if you can provide me with the dimensions of your phone I can make a mount specifically for it :)

Hello, I cut it sufficiently in the central part to be able to pass through, you could say I installed it upside down haha

Just right-click on the arm (part) and click Mirror on the X axis, it will turn the part correctly to the left side, then just slice and print.

I absolutely love this. my only problem is when I try to use the phone horizontally it’s too heavy for the device to stay up straight

you're absolutely right. This is one of the challenges I was not able to love at this stage unfortunately. the best I can suggest is yo use something to increase the friction between the arm and the mount. Perhaps you could use tape one layer at a time to increase the thickness of the swivel point? Either that or instead of using the included swivel pin, you could maybe try using an actual bolt and nut and screw them together. Sorry for not being able to help more :/

Thank you :) rest assured I will be continuing work on this concept and the next revision will fix this issue for you. I'm unsure when it will be ready as I have a lot of things I want to get right on the second revision but if you are enjoying this one so far I'm sure you will like rev2 even more :) Thank you for your valuable feedback my friend
