Description

If you're like me and love to print little Christmas villages and looking to expand your collection then hopefully this igloo house could be a great addition to the Christmas villages available to print.

❄️I've include a PDF with instructions on how to assemble it, but it's quite simple, and fun!

❄️Inside the igloo is enough room for any optional LED tea candle which allows the igloo to light up with a lovely warm glow.
❄️With the model at 100% it is approximately 10cm x 10cm, and 6.5cm tall.

❄️No AMS is required but can be used. All Parts have been separated for easy printing per colour. Or print the parts and hand paint with acrylic pens/paint.
❄️Supports only needed on the Igloo dome due to curved shape. I used tree supports which once cooled down where really easy to snap off.
❄️Only a small amount of gluing for extra stability.

Colours I used, but of course, feel free to choose your own
-PLA Basic White for the snow
-PLA Basic Cyan for the door and window ledges
-PLA Matte Latte Brown for the wooden steps and door handle/hinges
-PLA Basic Gray for the Chimney
-PLA Basic Green for the Tree

I didn't upload this. My sign on the roof is upside down in the photo. It's also not showing up in my print profiles?

The wife and kids loved this little igloo. The print was easy to do and the clever design made the assembly very quick. Since each part is printed independently, no filament waste and AMS not required. The parts aren't snapped in place, so glue is required. But each part fits perfectly and the female side is designed to accepts the male part exactly at the proper location. An outstanding design and beautiful.

Update... Major fight between the 3 kids for the igloo, 2 other igloos being printed in emergency mode. 😂️ Your design is really popular in the house. Thank your very much for sharing it.

Love it! Quick and easy print, I added some Mod Podge “extreme sparkle” to the igloo and ground snow for a little extra Christmas magic! (although it might not come through in the picture.)

Thanks! 😀 I got the glitter on Amazon. it was pretty inexpensive and a small bottle (8 FL OZ) goes a long way. I find that to do a decent covering of sparkles, I do 3 coats. Drying time between coats is a 1/2 hour. If you do get it, pick up a pack of assorted cheap brushes or at least a small, medium, and fan type brush. I use the fan brush on wide flat surfaces and do variations of “C’s” (backward C’s, right facing, etc.) Doing that will leave no brush strokes! You can make the brushes last a long time by rinsing them in water and then wiping between a paper towel, doing this several times. When you come back to do another coat, the brush will be a little stiff, but working the Mod Podge in the brush will loosen it back up. 😉

Hello First of all, a truly excellent model I just have one problem with the tree, it always detaches from the plate very early in the print Is there a solution for that

select the tree, then under "other" click "outer brim" Then reslice the plate. You will get a tiny skirt around the bottom of the tree, once printed just snap off the skirt, its only there to hold the tree in place on the print bed.
