Description

Presenting a robust, practical spool design specifically for the A1 Mini. The wings reduce the chance of snarls while still fitting on the smaller print bed. They also each contain an internal filament clip, keeping the filament end inside the spool, and reducing the chance of kinking.  Two clips along the hub allow spooling other bulk filament if desired, and the weight of the spool with and without the cardboard insert is printed on the exterior of the spool for precise filament measurements.

For the locking mechanism a simple screw thread with 50° sides ensures no defects while printing, 0.25mm tolerance between male and female ends eliminates slipping or jumping, and 4 inset bubbles with matching holes provide a simple yet robust lock when fully closed.

To latch closed, simply match the two halves, screw together about ¼ turn clockwise until it tightens, then turn 3° more until you feel a solid click.

This spool is designed for AMS Lite or external filament holder only.

Due to the complexity of the first layer, please ensure the print bed is clean, and if printing with PETG, either use glue, or set initial layer bed temp to 85°.
