Description

The coffee comb, or distribution comb, is mainly used in the espresso brewing process. It helps to evenly distribute the ground coffee in the filter holder, thus avoiding areas of higher or lower coffee density. This is important because it ensures that the water percolates evenly through the coffee, preventing channels where water could pass through too quickly (called ‘channeling’). In simple terms, using a coffee comb helps to achieve a more balanced extraction and, consequently, a fuller and more consistent tasting espresso.

this model uses classic sewing pins, which, being made of steel, are thin and strong. all pieces are interlocking, so no glue is required. there is a small recess in the cap for the pin head, which, depending on the pins used, can be enlarged with the tip of a screwdriver if necessary
