Description

Spinning Christmas Tree Toy!!

I was inspired to design this toy for my son with special needs. The aligning of the tree parts helps with fine motor skills and keeps children engaged and learning to organize from biggest to smallest in the festive shape of a Christmas tree! The post is threaded so no AMS is required for that multi color look and also enables a quicker print to repair in case it is dropped.

Printing Notes

  • I recommend printing the posts in PETG as it has more flex to it then PLA and stronger layer adhesion.
  • When printing the post I like to use tree supports over the build plate only, the thread of the post does not need supports.

Thanks, and you are welcome! You deserve the boost! I printed it all in PETG, except for the purple ones (PLA), since I don't have that color yet, but it is on the way.

The Star printed with a brim that did not want to come off. otherwise everything printed great!

yeah unfortunately without the brim the star has a tendency to pop off the build plate. A little post print clean up is necessary with a razor knife. Thanks for the rating!

One of the best things I've printed! Hours of fun for kids and even teens. Highly recommend trying it without the base; it becomes a really interesting physics demonstration!

This is a really amazing model, thank you for making it! I've made a few for new-parent couples I know and they have been so appreciative. One mother called me in tears to say her special needs child was playing with the toy and smiling, which he hadn't done in weeks with any other toy. Your model is reaching people all over who are benefiting positively from it, so thank you, again. The first couple were very tight tolerances on the post/base, so I merged those objects. I also flipped the pieces on the carbon fiber build plate and it looks excellent!

Man that makes me emotional to hear. my son was glue to my original spinning toy for days and that prompted me to make this one after he fell in love with the Christmas trees. Really makes me happy to hear man and I can’t thank you enough for sharing. Thanks for the boost as well!

Very fun! My 3 yo loves it. I also love it as a fidget during meetings. Works as well as the $30-$40 USD toys you find at independent toy stores. Boosted! Used CookieCad Solar Flare for star and gold trim. Inland PLA+ for Greens and Whites.
