Description

Fidget switch with satisfying click, print in less than 30min. Please wait till it cools down, if it does not work try to free the push button by pressing on one side. I tested with various filaments, best results was with bambu matte filament.

Printed one no problem. Filled the bed up with 8 to give to coworkers and had problems. 4 the spinny hinge wouldn’t free and snapped off (picture), 3 the spinny hinge would just fall off the peg, so those are usable as long as you don’t tip them to the side. Default print profile, may try the looser tolerances one.

thanks for feedback, may should make centre post bigger or 100% infill

I was looking at the ones with the sliding off the post, and it actually looks like the tip of the post fused to the spinning part, and so just the tip of the post broke off. So I think both errors are caused by the same thing. not sure if making the post bigger would help since it’s fusing on the end, maybe we can make the post slightly longer to mitigate the fusing? I will also try with higher infill.

Disregard making it longer, didn’t realize it was printed that side down. Looks like a tolerance issue for me since on some of them you can’t see the outline of the inner post at all.

Design not so stable because when pressed with both sides at once, then the whole force is on the small pin. Maybe larger pin or contact to the bottom wall would be better.

ok, thanks for feedback. what did you try to achieve by pressing both sides together?

this gadget is for playing around, right? I printed it for my colleagues and the played with it for a few minutes and it broke. So, they just pressed both sides during playing around

Tolerances a little too tight still. May be printer setup however. Pistons and lever don't move, appears to be fusing in places rather than remaining free.

thanks for feedback, that is very interesting, did you change anything in print profile?

Replying to @kanka :
Unchanged print profile. Might have a play with it, feeling it's more printer related than profile. Both pistons freed up with a bit of bending afterwards, but central pivot is still very much stuck

why doesn’t it work?

I think other button is stuck to the wall, first check if both buttons move freely, before pushing it down, or try print profile with looser tolerances

Good print, satisfying click, only for some reason the printing wasn't as smooth and produces some stringing and some over extrusion. (probably my fault, but other prints were perfect without changing any settings so that's why 4 stars)
