Boost Me (for free)

huge thanks for every boost!

Update (11.26): the legs are now thicker to have bigger contact surface on the plate. Printing is much more reliable this way.

About the model:

An artistic stag sculpture that can be printed without support.

Many people showed interest towards it, so I also made a doe to pair with the stag. The sizes of the two models are made to match nicely. There is a normal and a small size for both.

I recommend printing the normal size. It captures detail much better and is less fragile.

Print info:

Not an easy print. Since the legs are thin and long, very slow speeds are needed.

Perfectly fine without any support.

Some stringing can be expected but it's not the end of the world.

A truly magnificent model, I printed it at its original size using a custom print profile in 4h41m with a flawless surface finish (0.08 mm layer height) and no visible imperfections

Wow, seems like you found the perfect settings. Can you share this profile? I'd give it a recommendation and place it at the top of the list. You could get nice point rewards with it.

it's a very lovely shape, I just got some Sunlu PLA+ Silver Silk and it came out beautiful, I can't believe the lack of supports.. the only problem is just the top of the back slope, the steps are a bit ugly, my fault as I had scaled it down so enhanced the steps.. I'll see if I can reduce the layer thickness there. Thanks for a great model.

While printing, the legs were bending… using ASA material… what could be the problem

I only tested it for PLA and even with the most print-friendly filament it's not an easy print. Maybe ASA is simply just not suitable for this design with the tall and thin legs.

ASA will struggle with small features and is VERY likely to bend/warp due to differences in temperatures while cooling. If you were deadset on printing this is ASA, you'd likely want to heat your chamber to really slow down the cooling of the filament. But that's not a built-in feature, so you'd have to break out your space heater. (Not the designer, just a guy who prints). If you want ASA similar material properties, check out PETG. It should behave closer to PLA, but will have more ASA like temperature and water hardiness.

Hi Áron, thank you so much for creating and sharing your stunning deer model! I recently featured it in a video on my YouTube channel, where I explored printing with wooden filaments (https://youtu.be/NK7JzLaM0iU). Your design truly brought out the challenge of tuning settings for these filaments, especially at slow print speeds. I hope you enjoy seeing your creation featured – thank you again for contributing such an inspiring design to the community!

This is truly a stunning model Since taking up this hobby, I've never seen such a beautiful design I've added some accents to the horns and haunches using Bambu Studio, to suit my preferences Thank you so much for sharing this exquisite model As an aside, I'm curious which program you used for modeling

In the areas of the back and abdomen, where the layers meet very flatly, the layers are clearly visible. However, the model's finish is very fine and elegant
