Description

Not another Heli launcher! But this one is different, it features an 1:9 gear System for full Power supportet by 608 ball bearings.

External Hardware:

Assembly

Press Bearing
Press a 608 bearing into the hole of the middle housing. This is a tight fit, so you can use a hammer or a vice. The bearing won't slip in all the way and is about 1mm proud
Heat Inserts
Put all the M3x6 heat inserts in to their holes

On the shaft heat insert it can happen that the molten material gets too proud. If the Shaft Assembly in the next step is too wobbly, sand this part if necessary.

Gear Assembly
Follow this guide step by step, otherwise you won't be able to get the "Counterpart in"

press the bearing into the 30 teeth gear on the 20/30 combination gear. Don't press the other bearing in yet

2. Add the shaft gear into the already pressed bearing

3. Add in the screw and the counterpart from the other side. It should be tight with no wobble. Sand if necessary

Assembled Shaft.

4. Now you can press the other bearing into the other side of the shaft assembly

5. Press the bearing into the 10/30 Gear

6. Put the two gears together like shown

7. Put the whole assembly into the midle box

8. While holding the gears in place, screw in the M3x10mm screw from the other side. This will widen the shaft and hold the Gears in place.

9. To make the gears last longer, you can add some lube

Final Assembly

Screw the remaining parts together and you are done!

DIY Rotor

I have added the F360 file for the rotors also. If you want to design your own rotor you can change the parameters to try different stuff.

Always review the model after changing some parameters, sometimes the calculation can fail.

print came out great but doesn't fly that much. I expected that a 'overpowered' thing would fly a lot more

Hi, looks like you printed it on an A1Mini? The smaller pull handle which I added to make it printable on smaller build plates does not provide as much power as the long version. Maybe I will try to come up with a "glue together: version of the handle for the A1 users which provides the full stroke length.

Great model!! I didn't have any bearings laying around so I printed some from maker world. https://makerworld.com/en/models/396617?from=search#profileId-297924 Your model worked excellent even with printed bearings. I didn't even have to screw it together initially. stock rotors fly good, would like to see a few Toroidal rotors for this thing, they would really go great. Thanks and keep up the good work!

the hardest thing was putting the brass inserts in so that they did not remind of the tower of Pisa ;-) Well, and partly disassembling it b/c fastening the M3x10 max does not ease funtion :)
