Description

.22 Cartridge Sorter/Loader Assist

This is a tool I made to streamline loading .22 cartridges into my .22 case design. Loading 200 rounds one at a time gets tedious, so I came up with this to speed things up.

How It Works

  1. Sorting the Rounds: Pour in up to 100 rounds and lightly shake the tray. Most of the rounds will drop into place, though you may need to nudge the last few into their slots with a finger.
  2. Indexing: Place the indexing plate on top and shake gently side to side. The nubs on the plate align the rounds and set the spacing for loading.
  3. Loading: Align the tray over the case and slot the rounds in. Once they’re in place, remove the indexing plate and slide the sorting tray to the side to release the rounds. Avoid lifting the tray, as it can disrupt the alignment.
  4. Repeat as Needed: Reload and repeat the process for the next batch.

It’s not perfect, but it does make the process much quicker. Hopefully, it’ll save you some time if you’re working on a similar setup.

Overall I'm a really big fan of this. It lets me have a nice and organized method of storing bulk .22 ammo. I do have an issue with some holes being too smal. To fix this post-print, I just used some sandpaper attached to a skewer for each hole that was too tight. This is likely a tolerance issue but even those that fit are mostly pretty tight. A small increase in diameter may help.

Are you referring to the the loader or the actual case? I suggest trying the Hex hole version of the insert, it prints better and you should have no tolerance issues with it. The main issue with the round hole version was the vertical printing seam for each hole eating into its tolerance, but the hex version eliminates that problem.

Other Issues:Tolerances too tight, indexing plate does not seat properly in loader. Bullets cannot be aligned properly, makes operation difficult.
