Description

Rotating Wall-Mounted Moon - A Tribute to the Apollo Launch Complex

Among the many static and rotating moon projects, I decided to create something unique: a rotating wall-mounted moon. This model draws inspiration from this project on MakerWorld and combines aesthetics with innovation.

To make the project truly special, I wanted to pay tribute to a fundamental yet often overlooked structure in the history of space exploration: the Launch Complex 39, the launchpad that made the Apollo missions to the Moon possible.

The result is a 3D-printed moon mounted on a structure inspired by the iconic launchpad design. With an integrated rotation mechanism, the moon not only enhances the wall but also serves as a tribute to the history of space exploration, adding movement and charm to any living space.

To make it easier to replicate, I have included a detailed PDF with assembly and electronics instructions, which can be downloaded directly from the project page.
