Description

This is another improvement to the Top-Mount Handle Spool Holder which was originally designed by Max. It still includes an integrated cleat for mounting the spool holder, so you don't need to remove the old cleat and can actually move the spool holder back and forth (or mount a 2nd spool holder). This version improved on 2 issues.

I think I finally solved the cable routing issue to keep the cable to the hot-end getting hung up on the handle. You can see that it extends out and in my testing, I have been unable to get the cable to hang with this version (#4).

2nd, I noticed that when the hot-end was all the way up and to the right, the PTFE receiver could hit the filament of a full spool. This version has extends the spool mount 1" higher to avoid this. It does help if you print a bigger spool to raise it even a bit higher. There are several versions available on Makerworld that use printed roller bearings to allow the roll to spin more smoothly. I would recommend adding on of those to get it high enough really avoid all issues with a full roll (as shown in the picture with the red filament which I had just opened to test the height).

I did have a few problems with the PTFE holder and screw, but I they are unchanged from the original file from Max, although I did tune the support a bit.
