Description

Having covered a lot of the open areas and capping off places that can accumulate debris I noticed on the right side frame [opposite side of where the camera is mounted] theres an open hole in the frame. Debris probably won't reach it, but I figured why not make a cap for that in pursuit of a cleaner looking printer. Quick and Simple print, pops right in. Enjoy!

1/28/24 UPDATE - After getting my hands on a P1S I see there is a lip inside the hole unlike my P1P restricting the cap from seating properly. I've removed some of the material so now it will seat flush. Take a look at the pictures attached and print the one that works for you. With or without the lip in the hole.

the shape on the bottom didn’t fit my p1s had to do a quick and easy mod with a Stanley knife and a blow torch.

Any chance you could post a picture [or send it to me in a message] of that hole on your P1S? I made that "Lip" version specifically to fit my P1S so i'm wondering if tt was changed somehow. Not even sure why it would be, but now im curious

I hope these help, and maybe it’s just Bambu lab refining there sheet metal processing or cutting some cost by not trimming them as much?

For my P1S it's a little to big, but it stays in its position and so I say it's works.

Thats the P1S correct? I just got one and I see theres a lip inside the hole not on the P1P that doesnt allow it to seat, I've just updated the model to work with printers that have the lip present. Let me know how that works for ya.

Thanks a lot for your effort. I confirm that my printer is a P1S BUT the lip leaves a triangular hole. (see picture). So after print your new specific model Frame_Cap_wLip I realize that it doesn't work (for my printer). So I add a 3d model with 2 mods (starting from your model "Frame_Cap_wLip"). 1) edit the lip form from semi-circular shape to a right-triangular shape 8x8 2) add a negative offset of -0.5mm to reduce z height. Feel free to take, edit and delate my profile. Thanks a lot

Yeah, I'm curious why the P1S even has different variations in the lip size. You can see from the picture of my P1S the lip isn't as dominating of the hole as yours. Thanks for the edit though, my next step was to just cut the little piece off entirely which would work, but I like the idea of having some sort of material go down in to the hole area for stability since these printers and get to moving pretty good when printing fast.

It won't snap down flush. I think my geometry might be a tad off from the design. Still it fits well enough to keep any potential debris out.
