Black grouse call

“Whistle” to call black grouse. This can mimic the blowing sound (hissing sound) from the male black grouse mating call. For the rookooing sound, you can use your mouth or a pigeon call like https://makerworld.com/en/models/786391.

This model has a big improvement from commercial ones. It is transportable by screwing the pipe into the bell so it gets shorter and not so prone to breaking in a pocket. It will however not be as loud as one in metal, use as hard plastic as you can like PLA.

Printing

I have printed it by using standard print settings, 0.4 nozzle, 0.2mm layer hight and 15% infill.

You need glue to assemble it, super glue is recommended. Glue the two halves of the bell together and then the “u”-shape to the bells. The pipe is screwed into the U. The small ring is optional and can be glued to the pipe end (after it has been screwed into place) to prevent screwing out the pipe again, but I have not found it needed. The pipe is screwed in the right place for the call to be used when the U-shape is hiding the lower tapped part of the pipe completely. For transport, screw it in as far as possible.
