While cyanidesugar's Piece of Junk in Space was printing, I realized it was going to be flimsy and needed something to protect it. I wanted to be able to hang the print on a wall, either with nails or Command strips as this is going to be a gift for a friend.
So I made a two-part (one plate) snap-together frame that does just that. Did all my normal “walls are sized for printers to like them” style stuff (all walls and infill should be 0.42mm width if you don't use my profile!).
Two holes on the top corners accept common picture hanging nails up to ∅1.8mm. Alternatively the strip down the middle of the back can accommodate a common Medium Command strip (up to ¾" wide).
Locking tabs will snap in to place and little slits are built in so you can separate the halves with your nails if you need to get it apart, just slide from the wider part to the thinner part to wedge them open enough to come free of each other.
I put very small tolerances in this, so make sure you cleanly trim your brim off the print before inserting it!
If you intend on nailing this on the wall, place the base on the wall and hammer the nails in. Place your Piece of Junk in the frame and then put the top over it, pushing in along the middles to snap it in to place.
If you're going to use an adhesive strip, assemble it first in the same manner, attach your strip to the back, then press it against the wall and make sure to hold it for ~30s to give the strip time to bond to the wall. I advise using an alcohol wipe on your print first to ensure the strip properly attaches.
