Description

This is a flexible, articulated dragon 🐲 It prints in place with no supports or assembly required. It can stand on its feet, open its mouth, and move and rotate its wings. This was one of my very first flexible designs - and it is still very wiggly and makes for a fun desk companion.

Scaled to 85% to fit A1 Mini. Perfect!

PLA? Does it work? Also, those colors look awesome! I am hesitant to invest 4 hours printing this due to tolerances (joints welding themselves)

Yes, that’s PolyTerra PLA with Pastel Rainbow color. All joints function well with the scale!

I've had 3d printer and been doing my own CAD work for about 15 years. I've never had any luck with print in place joints, but I just bought a Bambu X1C and this model was on the top of the models in the new app. I decided to give it a shot. The dragon was the second model I ever printed on the X1V, and WOW! This is one of the coolest kids I've ever printed. everything was astoundingly perfect and I couldn't believe I just got print and didn't have to mess with anything. I've made 4 now. Each of my kids had to have one. On the second one I did I tried to teach myself some of the features of Bambu studio. I did that one in two colors and it was gorgeous. I just printed my 4th for my oldest daughter. She wanted silver and I added the metallic blue eyes with gold iris. I absolutely love the model and the printer!

The quality of this design & it's movement are great. You don't often see this type movement in the wing. I'm heart broken though. the right wing came loose from the print bed 1/3 of the way up. I was asleep & haven't been able enable spaghetti detection on the P1S. So it printed on. Somehow it managed to print the top 1/4 of that wing. I'm going to give it to my grandsons as a wounded dragon. I began with a clean bed. I don't want to use glue if I can avoid it. I will try again. Different PLA.

love the design. it would be cool if each leg could be independently moved, but fun nonetheless. it is unique compared to the more popular dragon style being sold everywhere as well.

Used the supported version and just had one wing tip fail. Downloaded original verion and just added supports at bottom of wing and it printed perfect. Im guessing that the fails are down to the adhesion on individuals build plate and not the model.
