Description

Gridfinity Drawers

Yet another way to organize your Gridfinity needs!

Depending on the popularity of this general idea I will definitely create more models.

The drawers are held in place by a small lid at the back of the bins.

I did a lot of tests and I'm satisfied with the tolerances now.

I suggest you push the drawers in and take them out a couple of times after printing to get a good fit.

Explanation of the units:

Since Gridfinity has a nice way of labelling their units, I thought about a similar way and will provide the explanation with an example:

9u_2l_1w__2d_1.5h

9u = 9 Gridfinity units high

2l = 2 Gridfinity units in length

1w = 1 Gridfinity unit in width

---

2d = 2 drawers

1.5h = 1.5 standard drawer heights

(1h equals to 17mm/0.66 inches in height)

As of now I only have 1h and 1.5h drawers, but depending on the needs I can quickly create more.

I had to modify the top a little bit so it can be printed without support and still fit the Gridfinity dimensions.

The only support you need is already preconfigured in the print profile and is filament wise negligible.

Update 09 Nov 24:

  • Added a 2 length unit!

    For this one I increased the wall size of the drawer, feels a little more sturdy now.

  • Reconfigured the print profile to directly include all needed parts for one complete bin:

Update 13 Nov 24:

  • Added a 2 length / 2 width unit!

  • Reworked the grid part of the bins with more than 1 Gridfinity units in length/width,
    so that they fit a little more loose into the base plates.

Update 14 Nov 24:

  • Added a 6u_2l_2w__2d_1h unit !

Update 21 Nov 24:

  • Added handle!
    I'm iteratively adding handles to the print profile named accordingly.
    As of this date I only added handles to the 1.5h drawer, but will add them continuously to the other versions.

    One major redesign in those versions:
    They won't lock in place! Otherwise a one handed opening won't be possible.
    I added a little more width, to have more friction for those.
