My Box

My Box is a cute little box that I designed as a fun project.

This box loves to hold your trinkets, coins, memories, jewelry, parts, tools etc...

Assembly & Tips

• There are two pin types, one for the main hinge, and one for the clasp.
• You will need two of each pin type, one for each side of their respective hinges.
• When you print out the pins, be sure that the flat side is facing down.
• If the pin fit is super tight, try carefully whacking them in with a small hammer or desk edge.
• I have had luck with scaling the size between approximately 50% - 200% and I am guessing it can be scaled even more than that.
• Try playing around with colors! Making the pins and clasp a different color than the main box and top parts can look very nice.

How I Designed This

I designed the box to be easily printed with an FDM printer.
No glue or non-3D printed parts... Just snap the pins in place and go!

I used FreeCAD to design each part from scratch.
The process involved a lot of trial and error; designing sequential versions of each part, printing them out, fitting them together, modifying the design, and repeating the process until I came to this final product.
