Description

AMS Riser with Bearing-Enhanced Smooth-Open Mechanism

 

This AMS Riser is a practical and sleek add-on for the P1S Bambulab 3D printer, designed to effortlessly open the top glass door with smooth precision. It utilizes 8 standard 608 roller bearings, which can either be 3D printed (I used this 3D-printed bearing model) or substituted with metal bearings for added durability. The bearing-based mechanism allows for a smooth and easy lift every time, reducing friction and wear.

 

The riser is engineered to be low-profile yet functional. It provides ample clearance to prevent the PETF tube from rubbing against the glass, ensuring longevity and uninterrupted use of your AMS. Additionally, this model includes an optional LED strip add-on to improve visibility within the enclosure, ideal for showcasing prints or monitoring progress even in low-light conditions.

 

Whether you’re upgrading for convenience or aesthetics, this AMS Riser brings both functionality and a modern touch to your P1S Bambu lab setup.

 

Warning: To prevent tipping, ensure that the AMS riser is positioned at the very front of the glass top. Avoid opening the glass too far, as this can destabilize the setup. The riser safely allows for an opening of approximately 10 cm/4inch

 

Assembly Instructions:

This AMS Riser model offers two print profiles: one that includes only the AMS riser and another with the optional LED strip add-on.

 

AMS Riser Assembly

The AMS riser is composed of four interlocking parts. The rear piece does not have a lip. Insert the eight bearings into the designated holes, and secure each one using the bearing knobs to hold them in place.

 

LED Strip Add-On
The LED strip add-on also interlocks with the riser but requires attention to the corners. The rear corners are rounded, while the front corners are sharper. To install, insert the add-on into the center of the AMS riser with the flat side facing upward. It should interlock securely with the AMS riser.

The LED strip can then be either glued in place or secured using the provided clips for added stability and flexibility.
