Description

🚀 “Poop Chute Boot" [v2]

The "Poop Chute Boot" is an innovative accessory designed specifically for the P1 Series and X1 Series. This part addresses a common noise during the printing process: filament residue accumulation of the “Purge Chute” A.K.AThe Poop Chute

💬 INTRODUCTION ~ ~ ~

The design of the Poop Chute Bootie ensures seamless integration with the Bambu Labs printers, allowing for easy installation and removal without interfering with the printer's functionality. This started when I noticed how loud our original printers were versus our newer model P1P. Upon inspection of the chute I seen a silicone boot on the end of the lever and realized I needed more for the others.

NOW AVALIABLE ON PRINTABLES

💡 BACKGROUND ~ ~ ~

Flippity - Jippity - KabLAam!

Boot was born.

User-Friendly Design

Its simple, user-friendly design facilitates effortless installation and removal, requiring no additional tools or complex procedures.

😎Functionality

Dampens lever contact on purge chute door! Overtime this becomes louder, not with this on though!

BILL OF MATERIALS ~ ~ ~

Printed using 95A TPU

PLA/PETG works as a resort to not having TPU on hand but TPU HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

🛠️ INSTALLATION ~ ~ ~

  1. Remove (Purge Chute Door Lever) it's held on with (1) Allen head screw *Critical* ~ DO NOT loose screw or bushing!
  2. Take lever off after removal, set aside components for reinstallation. (Screw & white rubber bushing)
  3. Take Poop Chute Boot & Slip on as if you were putting on shoes. (Boot should be a snug slip on fit)
  4. After comfirming boot is attached properly (Prongs facing operator)
  5. Reinstall Purge Chute Lever with screw set aside from operation #2 *Critical* ~ DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN! Screw in until any resistance!
  6. Enjoy the dampened effects every purge!

I had my doubts this little guy would stay in place, but ... it has so far. Needle nose pliers helped to pull the back of the boot up once I got it in position. Fortunately TPU is tough stuff and I was able to tug on it to get it to fit. Still a touch loose, but hasn't fallen off after a few day's use. I made a few changes to the settings (used normal supports @ 0.2 Z dist while printing 0.16 height) but nothing major. Would have printed OK as it was I suppose. Oddly enough, I still had some black ASA residue in the chamber so I got this really odd mix of TPU95A and ASA that has some really interesting qualities. You can see the difference to the little square pad on the right that's "pure" TPU. I'm going to try printing a few of these in 83A when I crack that spool open.

Beautifully Done! Nice work! The profiles honestly are always hit or miss, nice integration but hard for different environments. If you feel up to it definitely upload a profile! There’s to many variables to only have a designer profile work. it’s more so an average of success / fail attempts End note: it should be a snug fit, so if it isn’t you might want to check x-y comp. The fact that doesn’t follow in user print profiles is kinda lame. but then again everyone will be different. I can send you the measurements of what it’s supposed to be as well

Thanks Rick! We appreciate it!! If your purge chute door starts to squeak use a tiny amount of lube on the side of the hinges as well. Again thank you and if you support the model you can boost if you want!

Printed great, however I took the arm out of the chute to put it on and mine already has one? Am I missing something? I put it on anyway because mines purple TPU and that's better. 😜

You were a chosen lucky one! I extended the arms out a bit more and a slightly different angle 📐 than the Silicone to achieve more equal contact. The issue is not all printers before a certain period came with one and I couldn’t find it being sold or designed. ProtoSpyre was up to the Task and I’m happy people are enjoying the model! Thank you for the feedback!

Printed in TPU. I unscrewed it and installed it rather than trying to put the boot on while still on the printer. Definitely not as loud as before. Thanks.
