Description

After experimenting with various Spool Holders, I've designed that I find particularly effective.

This Spool Holder is tailored for spools with a diameter of up to 275mm and a width of up to 105mm.

The strategically placed bolt on the shaft allows you to control the ease of spool rotation. Its significance becomes apparent when you give it a try.

To assemble this holder, you'll need a pair of 608 bearings, like available at this link or Print in place bearings.

Hi I have problems with the same spools on your pictures. Could you share your plate with the matching bearings? Does it run those spools smoothly?

love it, thank you! would be perfect if the wheel on the shaft was a separate body which would allow spools to be positioned anywhere along the shaft

if both wheels were free to move along the shaft, then the spool could be positioned anywhere along the shaft, which would make ocd people like me very happy :D obsessed with all my printer upgrades, this would have been perfect if i could use any spool size and have it line up perfectly with the bowden tube considering my desk limitations. but nevermind me, thank you for this wonderful print !!

It would be good idea if you wouldn't need to print the shaft. Anyhow you can print two bolts to position narrow spools.

This printed perfectly in BL PETG BASIC White. It fits my Ziro 3Kg spools fine. It fits most 3Kg spools but I didn't realize until after it was completed that it was too narrow for the newer RepRapper 3Kg Spools which are wider than most at 110mm wide and therefore will not fit this design. I may try scaling the width of the objects to better fit wider spools such as the RepRapper 110mm wide spool and then upload a new print profile. Thank you

Hi mate, thanks for this great work! I printed as well the bearings in 608 but somehow the holes of the bearings are too small as I can’t mount the spool holder.

Hi, you can scale down the printed bearing a little in your slicer before printing I think. Or better buy a real 608 bearing.

I had to widen the spool holder by 10 mm and lengthen the axle by the same 10 mm. Now my 2.5KG fillament roll fits without grinding.
